In order to effectively
eliminate weight and maintain
your best body weight, you must change your lifestyle rather than simply going on
another
diet. If you have tried losing weight by choosing the latest diet, you have
probably found that what you lost - came back and usually brought more with it..
Following the meal plan suggested for you by your
doctor and dietician is the best way to get started. Your eating plan should include:
High fiber: A meal plan higher in fiber helps
fill you up and make you feel satisfied with fewer calories.
Three meals and two snacks: Spreading food out
over the entire day helps you avoid those hungry moments that can lead to
unplanned snacking.
Recommended portions of meat, fish, and
poultry: Enjoying 3 to 4 ounce protein rich foods naturally lowers fat
intake, especially saturated fat intake, which helps control calorie intake
(it also reduces saturated fat intake, which is good for the heart)
Enjoy every bite. The fastest way to lose
motivation is to eat food you don't like. Become a tasty-healthy food sleuth;
try new recipes; find a good cookbook and/or a great class. Love every
bite you eat and you will stay motivated to eat much less.
Schedule exercise for yourself on a regular
basis, at least 3 times a week, at least 45 minutes each time. Sneak exercise
where you can, such as taking stairs instead of elevators and parking at the end
of the parking lot to give you walking time, Be aware of your daily activities
and where you can sneak exercise.
